Those of you who are concerned that our medical care decisions are being taken away from us more rapidly than we ever believed possible might consider how the advertising industry is eagerly, even slobberingly, doing the advance work of the far left in distancing Americans from their traditional expectations of their medical care system as well as their traditional family belief systems.

My peer group is the Marcus Welby generation, absorbing the message every week, emanating from that hypnotically glowing tube in the living room, that we could trust in the collective wisdom of our white male dominated medical institutions. Was that message wrong, racist, misguided? Or was it simply reflective of the reality of our times? Well, by today’s standard, when there are more women than men in medical school, it most certainly is outdated, but is it incorrect? With a huge body of white male physicians still out there practicing, is it true? What is undeniably true is that it is this Welby generation that is the biggest user of health care in the nation. We also possess the most disposable wealth, yet we have no place in the designs of the pharmaceutical and advertising industries? 

Contemporary television advertising would lead us to believe that white male physicians are a faint and failing minority being overtaken by waves of minority medical graduates. With huge advertising budgets, pharmaceutical companies are constantly besieging us with sales propaganda designed to get us to go to our doctor and implore her to prescribe the medication that the pharmaceutical company has persuaded us is just the ticket for curing our particular problem. In the process, they are also enabling the liberal-dominated advertising industry to advance their ideological agenda by portraying actor-physicians as minorities or double minorities such as black, Hispanic, or oriental females.

White guys, well, they’re the dunces and dupes whose wives and all-wise minority physicians point out their delinquent behaviors. They must then dutifully acknowledge the error of their ways and promise to follow the wisdom of that black, Hispanic, or Asian doctor who outted them as dimwits. What is so sad and so destructive is the message delivered to white children across this nation is that your daddy is a moron who can’t find his butt with both hands. But never fear, this politically-correct government with its compliant advertising industry and their media outlets will see to it that daddy is reeducated to correct the error of his doofus, insensitive ways.

So, when daddy goes to his white, male doctor and complains that his position as head of the family is being eroded and undermined by contemporary political correctness being endlessly fed to his wife and his children though television advertising by pharmaceutical companies, how will that physician respond? Perhaps he should cease prescribing the products of the pharmaceutical companies supporting this forced social engineering

And before any of you condemn me as a racist, may I inform you that my personal physician is a very sharp young Chinese male whose training and judgment I trust implicitly. Of course, his best quality is his ability to chuckle at my gruff, old fart attempts at humor. I dare say he would concur regarding the misrepresentation of America’s medical reality by the pharmaceutical and advertising industries that provoke my question:
