While many Christians such as Presbyterians, or  hate filled student lefties and other Christian types rant against Israel's non existent "apartheid"--which not so incidentally trivializes the real horrors of apartheid that existed in South Africa--they are silent about present day apartheid--and worse--against Christians in Muslim countries. 

In addition to the Muslim on Muslim, Sunni v Shia v others horrors in Syria, Christians in Syria are now offered several unappealing choices according to a report in the Times of Israel. In a town captured by alQaeda rebels, Christian leaders were given the following options:

"to convert to Islam; to remain Christian but pledge submission to Islam; or to 'face the sword.' "

If you were a Christian in Syria, what would you have chosen?  

They opted for the second of those choices, known as dhimmitude.

According to classic Islamic law, Christians and Jews living under Muslim sovereignty must pay a tax known as jizya in return for the Muslim ruler’s protection, known as dhimma.

In return, the Christians agreed to a list of conditions: to abstain from renovating churches or monasteries in Raqqa; not to display crosses or religious symbols in public or use loudspeakers in prayer; not to read scripture indoors loud enough for Muslims standing outside to hear; not to undertake subversive actions against Muslims; not to carry out any religious ceremonies outside the church; not to prevent any Christian wishing to convert to Islam from doing so; to respect Islam and Muslims and say nothing offensive about them; to pay the jizya tax worth four golden dinars for the rich, two for the average, and one for the poor, twice annually, for each adult Christian; to refrain from drinking alcohol in public; and to dress modestly.

“If they adhere to these conditions, they will be close to God and receive the protection of Mohammed his prophet …

Christians in Egypt, mainly Copts who have been there for 2,000 years, continue to suffer; their churches are routinely vandalized, they are barred from many jobs, females, especially young ones, are abducted and forced into marriages with Muslim men while both males and females are often murdered.

 Blaming the recent coup on the Copts, mobs all over Egypt rioted against them, ransacking churches and monasteries, murdering many.  CBS did an extensive report. 

A few days ago, seven Egyptian Copts were shot execution style in Benghazi, Libya.

Copts are fleeing Egypt as are Christians in Iraq; countries where they have lived for 2,000 years.

Christians cannot practice their religion in Saudi Arabia; indeed bibles, crosses and other Christian items are confiscated from their owners upon entry into the country.   

Now that's apartheid.
