Pabulum from the POTUS
Has this nation had a president so arrogant, so narcissistic, so incompetent as Barack Obama? I think not, at least since Woodrow Wilson. The SOTU speech last night was another offering of meaningless pabulum, meant to soothe his cultish devotees in the media and the low-information voters, those folks who did not listen or watch but will tell the pollsters tomorrow that the speech was "awesome."
This man, our President, is the emptiest suit of empty suits. There is no there there. He reads the teleprompter but one cannot help thinking that he was reading the speech for the first time and that he most certainly did not write it. He believes himself to be above the ignoble work of actually writing the speeches he delivers, just as he considers himself above actually governing. He dictates. He lectures. He orders. He vacations. He golfs. He spends taxpayer dollars profligately. He pontificates on issues about which he knows virtually nothing beyond what his callow young "advisers," like the odious Dan Pfeiffer, tell him. He is a cipher.
He has devastated American medical care, intentionally; he wants it redistributed from the rich to the poor. The result is that no one but the very rich will get good care, if any care at all. He and his family will always have access to good medical care. The rest of us are on our own, left to the malevolent devices of another government bureaucracy put in place to stymie us into submission to its impersonal will. We are all just subjects in Obama's vision of a transformed, Alinskyite America.
He took credit last night for our oil production even though he has done everything he can to impede it. He took credit for job creation! A joke, since 92 million people are not in the workforce. He took credit for a recovering economy that is stagnant, hamstrung by Obamacare.
President Obama has surrounded himself with mediocrities; that is the only way he can feel superior. It makes no difference to him that these people do terrible damage to the country and America's position around the world: Hagel (cut the military), Kerry ("the Palestinians want peace with Israel"), the completely incompetent Kathleen Sibelius (no explanation necessary), Jeh Johnson (who says illegal immigrants have "earned the right to be here"). Has Johnson ever once read the Constitution? Samantha Power, Susan Rice -- they are all, every one of them, intellectual lightweights. Each of them is ignorant of the most basic facts of American history.

Where in this administration are the Jeffersons, the Madisons, or to bring us up to date, the William Buckleys, the Tom Sowells, the Victor Davis Hansons. There are many more thinkers of our time that do measure up to our Founders because they have read them, studied them and know them. They revere them. There are numerous visionary, brilliant minds that have helped to form, shape and develop this nation and more than a few who are able to analyze it perceptively today and contribute to its stability and survival. Obama does not seek their counsel. There is not a single person in the Obama administration that measures up to any one of those former or current philosophical geniuses. Not one. He has surrounded himself with lesser beings than himself which is proof of his narcissism and a tragedy for our country.
