Yet another elite campus hate crime hoax exposed
I wonder what percentage of reported hate crime incidents at elite colleges have been hoaxes? I suspect the number is north of half. In recent memory, Oberlin College was convulsed over a series of fake hate crimes (with the administration shamefully aware of the fakery yet permitting campus-wide hysteria), and now Vassar College has been shaken by a phony incident. Ronny Soave of the The Daily Caller reports:
Reports of bias incidents at Vassar College that involved hateful messages left on students' doors were actually elaborate hoaxes - and the perpetrator is none other than the student member of the Bias Incident Response Team, The Daily Caller has learned.
This fall semester at the liberal arts college in New York saw a curiously high number of bias incident reports. On Nov. 14, the college sent a mass email to students advising them that Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) had received at least six reports in the last few months of hateful and insensitive messages being scrawled and spray painted on student residences. Messages included "Avoid Being Bitches," "Fuck Ni***rs," and most prominently, "Hey Tranny. Know Your Place."
Predictably, the college reacted with grave outrage. "This is unacceptable and members of our community should be able to learn and work in environments that are free of hurtful expressions and behaviors," write the dean in charge of rooting out bias.
But of course, it turned out that the perps were two students exploiting the eagerness of gullible liberals to believe hateful bias is all around them, one of them identified by the Daily Caller as a "transgendered" student named Genesis Hernandez, who was a vice president of the Vassar Student Association (VSA), the student government, and the student member of the Bias Incident Response Team.

It seems rather clear that there are large numbers of people who have a need to be the victims of "hate crimes," and are willing to fake them in order to achieve the exalted status of victim. This sort of fraud is even worse than actual incidents of hate crimes, because it gins up tensions and harms people of all stripes.
Elite liberal arts colleges are suffocating politically correct. For people whose personality disorders require persecution (and this seems to be a common syndrome), the lack of foils apparently is enough to require fraud.
