Fiscal cliff negotiations the opportunity of a generation to stop further tax hikes

Lee DeCovnick
The GOP negotiates like clueless little girls. These one-dimensional thinkers don't realize that the "fiscal cliff" is the opportunity of a generation to stop further middle class tax increases.  The Democrats have bet the house on a modest tax increase for those making over $250,000.  Ok then, it's clearly time for the GOP to raise the stakes.

Grover Norquist clearly warns America of the dangerous tax increases ahead in a WND interview.

Norquist, president and founder of Americans for Tax Reform, said the first act "is to get congressional Republicans to put their fingerprints on what amounts to a minor tax increase."

"After raising taxes on the rich a little bit, the Democrats will come back for serious tax revenue," he said.

"In acts two and three, the Democrats will come back for the real money - an energy tax and a value-added tax that will impact everybody, especially the middle class."

Norquist insisted Democrats in Congress and the establishment press are playing an elaborate game designed to blame Republicans for budget deficits and keep serious discussion of spending cuts and entitlement reform off the table.

"Congressional Democrats know raising taxes on the rich will not produce enough tax revenue to reduce significantly the trillion-dollar annual budget deficits being run by the Obama White House," he said.

"The reason the Democrats scream 'tax the rich, tax the rich,' is because they are going to pivot very soon to place a 3 trillion-dollar tax increase on the middle class, and they want ringing in the public's ears that there wouldn't have had to do this if the Republicans in Congress had acted right away to place a decent size tax on the rich."

Simply the GOP should accept this minor tax increase, go the extra mile to meet Obama - break the log jam --- and write the deal so as to kill any new energy / carbon taxes and VAT's without a formal Congressional declaration of war and four- fifths vote of Congress. Let's watch the Democrats try to justify higher middle class taxes down the road.

Speaker Boehner, et al., negotiate the next 25 years of American government -TODAY.

Put everything the county needs into this deal including entitlement reform, real spending cuts, the end of base line budgeting, Obamacare reform, tax reform and create the ultimate Grand Bargain of the first half of the 21st century.   Let Obama twist in the wind by agreeing to the higher taxes on the 2%. Then hang on as the MSM and the Administration pisses themselves dry trying to get out of the trap.
