Coptic Christians Reach Out to Hillary Clinton
Coptic Christians living in the United States have sent a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pleading for her to take more action to save their brethren in Egypt, as Egyptian Coptic Christians face increasing persecution and annihilation by the Egyptian army under the aegis of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Termed "a crime against humanity" the ongoing killings and arrests by the Egyptian Military Counsel are highlighted in a letter written by Monir A. Dawoud, President of the American Coptic Association. He reflects that on October 9, 2011, right after Clinton "expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Egyptian Military counsel, live ammunition was fired upon unarmed demonstrating Christians. More than 40 Christians were killed and more than 350 were seriously injured.
Dawoud expresses dismay with the American "official state declaration welcoming radicals" such as the Muslim Brotherhood. Dawoud writes that "[a]llowing [the] Muslim Brotherhood Group to control Egypt will definitely lead to the ultimate destruction of freedom and democracy not only in Egypt but all over the Arab countries and will spread to the rest of the world!"
Though the Muslim Brotherhood claims that non-Muslims "would be allowed to practice their own faith" this is merely a ruse as the Muslim Brotherhood is totally committed to installing sharia law to the areas it conquers. Since the Muslim Brotherhood engages in takiyya or lying for the benefit of their goals of Islamization, they simply cannot be trusted.
Instead their mission statement is quite clear concerning their quest to engage in worldwide jihad to defeat the West. As Frank Gaffney has articulated, "[s]uch clarity is readily available because the Brotherhood (MB or, in Arabic, Ikhwan) has told us as much. Consider, for example, the mission statement for the MB found in one of its secret documents, titled 'An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America.'
Thus, "[t]he Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions."
Dawoud calls on America, "the Citadel of Justice, freedom and Human rights protection" [sic] to speak out against the Muslim Brotherhood. He cites the Canadian Parliament for their bravery in highlighting the issue.
In fact, Bob Dechert, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the House of Commons on October 27, 2011 stated that "as Canadians and as parliamentarians...we are outraged by the killing of innocent and peaceful protesters in Cairo by members of the Egyptian military and ...we insist that they submit to an independent UN investigation of this incident."
Furthermore, "Canada expressed its concern regarding the treatment of religious minorities and called for Egypt to remove a categorization by religion on state documents." This refers to the second article of the Egyptian Constitution stating that "Islam is the religion of the state and Islamic jurisprudence is the principal source of Legislation."
Concern for Jews is also clear in Dawoud's letter as he discusses the "everlasting hate [of the Muslim Brotherhood] to Jews and Christians" alike. As explained by Steven Emerson "[a]nti-Americanism and anti-Semitism go hand-in-hand in the Muslim Brotherhood's ideology, as demonstrated in a recent speech by the group's leader Mohamed Badie. To Badie, the current problems in the Middle East have historical roots in a Jewish conspiracy, coupled with Masonic and American/Western elements." The echoes of Nazi vile lies are clearly evident in the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood.
In a speech posted to the Brotherhood's Arabic-language website and translated by the Investigative Project on Terrorism. Badie contends that "Allah has warned us [of] the tricks of the Jews, and their role in igniting the fire of wars," Moreover, Badie affirms that "[t]he Almighty said: 'Every time they [the Jews] light the fires of war, Allah extinguishes them; and they labor hard to spread corruption on earth: and Allah does not love the spreaders of corruption."
The ongoing violations against the Coptic minority in Egyptian are increasing with no end in sight. They fear for their lives and Egypt has "become a real Hill [sic] full of injustice, disrespect, daily humiliations and poisoned atmosphere." In fact, "Christian Churches have been burnt in Alexandria, Atfeeh, Moqattam, Omraniah and Imbaba of Cairo, Menyah, Assiut, Qena and all over Egypt."
Abductions and forced conversions of young Coptic girls result in their parents being punished when they seek their daughters' freedom while the criminals are financially rewarded by Saudi Arabia and all Islamic jihadist groups. No justice is meted out because according to sharia beliefs no crime has been committed!
Mr. Dawoud contrasts the rights of the American Constitution with the lack of freedoms under sharia law. In fact, the Muslim Brotherhood's "Supreme Guide Muhammad Badi, has effectively declared war on the United States" and all the ideals that it stands for.
Throughout his impassioned letter, Dawoud expresses deep concern that the Obama administration has "embraced the Brotherhood." As I have written elsewhere, Obama's moral compass does not include an understanding of the dangers of the Muslim Brotherhood or, even more disturbing, perhaps the 44th President sees nothing wrong with their basic ideology.
As Dawoud writes, "many Americans think that [the] Obama administration's efforts to 'engage' the Muslim Brotherhood are not just reckless. They are wholly incompatible with the President's oath to 'preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.'"
Post-Veterans' Day, it is particularly apt that we remember Dawoud's words: "What we are facing today is a crime against not only the Christian minority in Egypt, but against Humanity, against all what [sic] United States stand[s] for, against the Constitution that the founders of America have shed their blood for. We appreciate your speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves and defending those who cannot defend themselves, the Christians of Egypt who are facing persecution, impending massacres and ethnic cleansing. God bless you. God bless America."
It is truly up to decent Americans of all persuasions to write to their Representatives and Senators, to write to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and to publicize the issue in their various Houses of Worship. Write to the news media and send them articles highlighting the aims and hatred of the Muslim Brotherhood so that reputable journalists will not continue to engage in superficial fluff reports about an alleged "Arab Spring." Too many in the media display incredible ignorance of the Muslim Brotherhood's aspirations. While we still have our precious First Amendment rights of speech, press, and petition, we need to utilize them.
It is only through unrelenting public outcry that the Copts and, ultimately, all of us will push back the evil forces of the Muslim Brotherhood and their ilk.
