Columbia University just issued a heated denial-denial about Adolf Ahmadinejad's forthcoming visit to NYC.   This denial sounds like that old joke about the cheatin' hubbie telling his wife he's not nekkid in bed with Susie, he doesn't even know who that woman is, and who you gonna believe, me or your lyin' eyes?

I count five denials in three sentences from Columbia. All those news reports about Ahmadinejad and El Presidente Lee Bollinger are damned lies!

(The news reports) "fundamentally misstate the University's role in this unconfirmed possible encounter. Simply put, there never was one. In fact, at no time has there ever been any university event planned or considered involving the president of Iran, nor has there ever been any plan for a dinner involving the Iranian president and President Bollinger."

I don't even know that nekkid gal in my bed!

It was just an "unconfirmed possible encounter," honest!

Doesn't anybody teach English there anymore? I count 53 words in that denial-denial, and at least 43 of them are unnecessary.

Ten words would be plenty, if they weren't all discombobulated by the threat of a lawsuit.

I wonder if Ahmadinejad's last visit to Columbia is fresh on their minds, when President Bollinger insisted on giving Adolf a highly prestigious university forum to pump out his well-known views on Holocausts, past and future. That was 2007, and they treated Adolf  like ... ummm .... well, like  some Wahhabi oil billionaire bringing a suitcase full of cash for their Islamic Studies Programs.

(If you have an extra billion dollars and you want to buy influence in the United States, you need to give money to Columbia. It's true that the Soviets did it a lot cheaper at Cambridge University, but these days even colleges want to see the money upfront.)

Just a day in the life of the modern university, you might say.

Apparently President Bollinger is not quite as warmly welcoming today as he was in 2007. How soon university presidents forget. 

Adolf A'jad has just been telling the world that:

• a. Zionists started both World War One and World War Two. (And if he has his way, World War Three, too).
• b. Israel is "doomed."
• c. .To the seven million people of Israel: " Do not think that your existence will be recognized with the recognition of a Palestinian state... you have no place in our region and among nations ..."

Even Politico is finally wising up to the fact that Adolf is going get them any day now.
