Sharia -- Women at Risk

In this video entitled "Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf: Sharia and the US Constitution are the Same," Rauf's words are juxtaposed against pictures which reflect the reality of sharia law for the vast majority of Muslim women.

Besides the viciousness and cruelty inflicted upon women in the Muslim world, besides the perverted "law" that sanctions such hideous acts, the most telling part of this illuminating video is the laughter by those in attendance each time that Rauf says that the "U.S. is a sharia compliant state."

Is theirs a nervous laughter, a conspiratorial laughter or a programmed laughter? Are the women in the audience so indifferent to the plight of other women? Are they just the Islamic equivalent to the Nazi women guards during World War II whose insensitivity often surpassed those of the SS men? Or are they being lured by an hypnotically seductive speaker masquerading as their benefactor?

Do these women think they will be immune to the "religious police" if sharia comes to America?

If you view this video and do not question the perfidy of Rauf, then does your silence indicate approval? If we, in America, do not speak up for these abused and helpless women then are we, too, endorsing what happens to them?

My husband, who is exquisitely careful not to kill an insect, who would not permit his child to have a pet canary in the house "because the bird would not be free" frankly states that it is time to arm these Muslim women so they can defend themselves against these butchers who abuse, rape, enslave, and murder in the name of religion.

It's long overdue.
