So much for the racist tea partiers meme
As the old saying goes, "Money talks." Alex Isenstadt reports in Politico:
Florida Republican Allen West is continuing his torrid fundraising pace, raking in a mammoth $530,000 during July.
West, a former Army colonel who is waging a tea party-fueled bid, has emerged as one of the top House candidate fundraisers in the country. His total, revealed in pre-primary Federal Election Commission reports made public Thursday evening, keeps him apace of the $1.4 million he raised during the second quarter - more than any other House challenger candidate in the country.
The Republican's total brings him to more than $4 million raised for the cycle and gives him more than $2.2 million on hand.
No other candidate inspires as much passion among my conservative friends as Col. West, who, if anyone really cares, is black.
