Union teacher 'just kidding' about hanging Obama in effigy
With the anger over the highly unpopular, unconstitutional and unconscionable nightmare known as Obamacare at fever pitch is it any wonder that the future former president should be hung in effigy?
This latest episode must be particularly troublesome for the Obama administration. The timing was nearly perfect for a fresh threat against "The One" as he valiantly fights (with his fellow travelers in congress) to save the American people from democracy, but alas the perpetrator doesn't fit the bill. If only this would have happened at a tea party!
Less than one month ago Mr. Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan lent support to the decision to fire the entire faculty at Central Falls High School in Rhode Island. In a bold move that angered their union base, the president and his fellow Chicago comrade expressed the importance of holding failing schools accountable. The Providence Journal reports.
A teacher at Central Falls High School has been disciplined after School Supt. Frances Gallo discovered a doll representing President Obama hanging upside down in effigy in the teacher's third-floor classroom Monday afternoon. The doll wore a sign: "Fire CF teachers."
"I was deeply saddened and, actually, quite horrified at the sight of it," Gallo said.
After she found the 12-inch doll dangling from the whiteboard, Gallo contacted the state police who immediately came to the high school, took photographs and removed the doll. The police investigated and determined that the incident did not rise to the level of a hate crime, and no charges were filed against the teacher, said Lt. Steven Lefebvre.
Amazingly the teacher in question has been allowed to remain in the classroom, it seems that he did not intend to threaten or disrespect Mr. Obama and the hanging was really just a joke. Superintendent Gallo should be commended for maintaining the highest of liberal principles, after all intentions are more important than results aren't they? Besides this poor public servant (and union member) is going to be terminated at the end of the school year anyway.
Gallo estimated that the effigy was hanging for at least a week and could have been seem by as many as 100 students, although she does not know how many students had been affected by it.
Gallo said Principal Elizabeth Legault said she had not seen or been aware of the hanging doll.
It may seem odd that an Obama doll could be hanging in a classroom for about a week without being noticed by one of the students, but after a quick review of Central Falls High School's academic performance it makes perfect sense. How many of the estimated 100 students would actually have had occasion to look at the white board in any given week? How many of the young scholars who looked at the board would have noticed the Obama doll hanging there? How many of these future leaders would have recognized that the doll was a representation of Mr. Obama? And finally, how many of these core democrat voters could actually read the sign on the doll?
Pay attention, it is just a question of time before this poor teacher's misguided attempt at humor is blamed on the overwhelming stress he must feel about losing his job and the sheer terror he must feel at the thought of losing his health insurance.
