IRS riding shotgun for Obama
It looks like the IRS under the Obama administration is getting serious about improving its ability to collect taxes and enforce the tax codes. The Drudge Report has posted a broadcast request from the IRS to purchase Remington pump-action shotguns posted on February 2nd.
This was not your standard accounting requisition order for green eye-shades, shirt-sleeve garters or #2 pencils:
"The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to purchase sixty Remington Model 870 Police RAMAC #24587 12 gauge pump-action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Division. The Remington parkerized shotguns, with fourteen inch barrel, modified choke, Wilson Combat Ghost Ring rear sight and XS4 Contour Bead front sight, Knoxx Reduced Recoil Adjustable Stock, and Speedfeed ribbed black forend, are designated as the only shotguns authorized for IRS duty based on compatibility with IRS existing shotgun inventory, certified armorer and combat training and protocol, maintenance, and parts."
Oddly enough, the request was generated from the San Francisco branch of the Internal Revenue Service, located at 333 Market Street. One would think the Texas branches would be more knowlegeable procurers of firearms.
Were you even aware that IRS agents underwent "combat training?" Perhaps the requisition request was leaked sufficiently prior to April 15th to generate a bit more effort by taxpayers to get their returns filed in a timely fashion. Since Obama pledged to cut taxes for 95% of Americans,I suggest that if you feel that you belong in that other 5%, you had better mind your IRS p's and q's.
