Israel finally wises up

After losing the last war in Lebanon to a deceitful press whose false coverage -- largely by foreign stringers --was exposed by such bloggers as EU Referendum and epitomized by the Green Helmet poseur who stages many of the most propagandistic of the reports and photos, the Israeli government is going to make its side heard, even if that means setting up its own YouTube channel to counter the media lies. The Jerusalem Post reports
In the midst of its Gaza operations, the IDF is entering yet another conflict zone: the Internet. The Israeli army announced yesterday the creation of its own YouTube channel, through which it will disseminate footage of precision bombing operations in the Gaza Strip, as well as aid distribution and other footage of interest to the international community.
Let's hope the U.S. has learned its lesson, too, and president-elect Obama brings to his Afghan endeavor the same media manipulation skills he used to promote himself in the campaign.
