Pope insulted by attempted assasin of JP II
Mehmet Ali Agca, the man who attempted to kill Pope John Paul the Great, only to be forgiven by his target, has apparently not had his heart permanently affected. Via Ummah News Links, we see a dispatch from the Zee News revealing that would-be assassin is now calling the pope a "Nazi remnant."
Mehmet Ali Agca believes the head of the Roman Catholic Church is seeking to polarise the world along religious lines but is confident that "this Nazi remnant will fail in his policies of grudge and hatred," Attorney Mustafa Demirbag told reporters, a day before Benedict XVI was to arrive for a four-day visit.
Agca appears to be insane, but then again, there are plenty of others in Turkey threatening the pope, a very, very brave man who is beginning a visit to that country.
