The Terrorist Study Abroad Program
Bella Dodd made this statement in reference to communism’s infiltration into the U.S., but it is a perfect description of today’s Muslim Brotherhood threat to the U.S.:
"If I send you a machinegun and tell you it is a baby carriage, and I send it to you wheel by wheel and nut by nut and you do not know until you have assembled the thing that it is a machinegun and not a baby carriage," that is exactly what has happened to this country. We are being sold machineguns without knowing it is machineguns.” (Testimony, Scope of Soviet Activity in the U.S., 1957)
There has been a long tradition in the U.S. of offering foreign students the opportunity to study in this country, often through scholarship. With foreign terrorists there is now a common link: student visa, Muslim Students Association (MSA), terrorism. While not including all Muslim students, or even all MSA students, it includes some whopping examples. In 1963, members of the Muslim Brotherhood met at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus to spread “Islam as students in North America.”
The MSA was never a benign collegiate group. But the discovery of the Muslim Brotherhood’s 1991 "Explanatory Memorandum: on the General Strategic Goal for the Group". helps to put the MSA into perspective. The memorandum details the Brotherhood’s strategy for penetrating western organizations in its goal for a “global Islamic State”, (their words). Study abroad and the MSA are part of the “settling process.” The memorandum pulls no punches about what this means: “The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process’ with all the word means. The Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions.”
The MSA is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood and was named as an unindicted coconspirator in the U.S. v Holy Land Foundation trial. As far back as the 60s, recruitment into the Muslim Brotherhood had as “its main condition… that a brother must be active in the general activism in the MSA, a person who attends its general conferences or participating in its executive committees, whether local or central, and this was the Movement’s conditions in the 1960’s.” They were then approached to join the Brotherhood. The MSA remains the “main recruiting tool for the Brotherhood in the U.S.”
The path to shariah in the U.S. is being built on the rotting sands of cultural marxism, using Antonio Gramsci as a model, as Lafif Lakhdar, a European Islamic scholar, acknowledged:
“The Muslim Brotherhood implement the strategy of Gramsci. Gramsci was an Italian philosopher. When he was in prison he believed that the working class could not gain political rule, unless it gained cultural rule. In other words, they should spread their culture among the public, by the means of education and the media everywhere… And so the Muslim Brotherhood has attempted to penetrate U.S. culture through schools, religion, entertainment, sports, politics, law, and the media.
Perhaps one of the earliest of the MSA students in the U.S. was Sayyid Qutb, an Egyptian. From 1948 to 1950, Qutb lived in the United States on a scholarship to study the American educational system, attending Colorado State College of Education. His seminal work, Milestones, advocated a global caliphate. He was the chief propagandist for the Muslim Brotherhood and played a major role in today’s modern jihadist movement. Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri, and Amwar al-Awlaki, to name a few, have all cited Qutb as a major inspiration. His philosophy, known as Qutbism, advocates a return to Islam of the seventh century, the institution of shariah and the dhimmification of non-Muslims. He was hanged in Egypt in 1966 for participating in various Brotherhood plots to overthrow the Egyptian government.
Mohammed Morsi, Obama’s pick for president of Egypt after Hillary’s “Arab Spring,” also studied on scholarship here and earned a doctorate in rocket engineering from the University of Southern California during the 1970s to 1980s. While at USC he became a member of the Muslim Students Association.
Anwar al-Awlaki studied on scholarship at Colorado State University during the mid-90s. The highest profile American Al Qaeda leader and the godfather of the modern “Lone Wolf” terrorist, such as the Fort Hood and the Christmas Day underwear bomber plots, he was MSA president while at Colorado State. He was known to the FBI as a senior recruiter.
Omar Hammami studied at the University of South Alabama. While there he was president of the MSA. Hammami was responsible for the Al-Shabaab terrorist group in Somalia.
Other terrorist students in the U.S. include the Boston marathon bombers, the Tsarvnevs. Tamerlan attended the Bunker Hill Community College, then dropped out. His brother Dzhokhar attended the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. The MSA tried to recruit Dzhokhar without success, but he continued to play soccer with them. Tamerlan attended the Islamic Society of Boston mosque operated by the MSA. It is noteworthy that the MSA was first to the microphone to point out that Dzhokhar was not one of its members. The U.S. government had been tipped about the Dzhokhars prior to the bombing.
Nidal Hassan of Fort Hood joined the U.S. Army after high school and served eight years as an enlisted soldier while attending college at Virginia Tech, indicating the U.S. Army most likely paid for his college. The Army also paid for his medical training at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Since he had e-mailed Anwar al-Awlaki, who encouraged suicide bombings, his case was an FBI failure. While there is no evidence that Hassan joined the MSA, there is a radical Islamic presence at and around Virginia Tech. The Muslim Student Association (MSA), is very active on VT, and the Islamic Center of Blacksburg has .
Omar Mateen, whose father, Seddique Mateen, was in the second row for one of Hillary Clinton’s propaganda shows in Florida and is a supporter of the Afghan Taliban, was responsible for the Orlando Pulse Nightclub massacre. He attended Indian River State College in Florida, and travelled to Saudi Arabia on a trip funded by the MSA. He was known to the FBI prior to the event but an investigation in 2013 was called off because the bureau considered his terrorism as a reaction to “being marginalized because of his Muslim faith.”
The highest ranking Al Qaeda leader to have been an MSA president was Wa’el Hamza Julaidan, a cofounder of Al Qaeda and MSA president at the University of Arizona.
The highest profile MSA president to go to prison was MSA national President, Abdurahman Alamoudi, currently serving out a 23-year sentence. Under Hillary Clinton, Alamoudi became an “Islamic Affairs Advisor” and held official positions at the White House, Pentagon, and State Department. He also began the American Muslim Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Council, vetting Islamic chaplains for service in the U.S. armed forces, including Al Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki. In 2000 Alamoudi announced his support for the terrorist organizations Hamas and Hizb’allah. Eventually arrested, he was convicted in an al-Qaeda assassination plot to kill the Saudi crown prince, and is now in a federal prison.
This list is by no means complete, there are more.
Terrorism is a threat to this country, as recently in New York City and Minneapolis, about which we were studiously disinformed at the first presidential debate. But there are twin threats: while terrorism is real, the main issue in this election is the threat of shariah law in the U.S., as noted by Stephen Coughlin, who formerly briefed the Pentagon and other U.S. officials on the threat of Islam:
“For these enemies, the implementation of Islamic law -- shariah -- as the governing law of the land is the objective. This is true not only for jihadi groups like al-Qaeda, but also for dawah organizations such as the Muslim Brotherhood and ummah entities like the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), a transnational body that makes reasonable claims to represent the ummah, or the entire Muslim world." Catastrophic Failure: Blindfolding America in the Face of Jihad by Stephen Coughlin. Washington, D.C.: Center for Security Policy Press, 2015, p.26.
Since 9/11 “the number of foreign students enrolled in American colleges and universities increased 72 percent. During this same period, the number of students from Saudi Arabia grew by 1,000 percent and the number from the 19 nations of the Middle East and North Africa more than tripled.” Not surprisingly, Islamic extremism is on the rise on college and university campuses in the U.S.
There is a clear-cut relationship between the MSA and terrorism. There is also a pattern of FBI negligence. In two of the cases of terrorism, Alamoudi and Mateen, there is also a link to Hillary Clinton. There is another Muslim Brotherhood connection to Clinton: Huma Abedin, her top aide, was an executive board member of George Washington’s MSA.
How many foreign students are members of the MSA? How many will be recruited into the Brotherhood? How many work in sensitive positions in the U.S. government? How many will get a degree in terrorism? How many are working to implement shariah law? These are serious questions for the presidential candidates.
